Kusini Camp – Sanctuary Retreats
Luxury Safari Camp, 12 tents
Kusini is located in the South Central area of the Serengeti National Park. The park itself covers 14,763 sq. kilometres, making it one of the world’s largest wildlife sanctuaries.
Kusini is perfectly sited in a cluster of kopjes (beautiful outcrops of granite rock). The 12 luxury tents blend seamlessly into the predator-rich plains of the Serengeti. Part of Kusini's charm is its remote and private location within the park borders, offering exceptional and essentially private game viewing. The Serengeti is home to the great Wildebeest migration, and the short grass plains around Kusini provide the perfect setting for the wildebeest as they mass around the area in the early months of each year.

Accommodation and Facilities
Accommodation is offered in twelve double tents which are scattered around the main Kopje. Each tent is attended by a personal butler and has en-suite facilities with hot and cold running water. Private verandas with comfortable furnishings extend in front of each unit.
The dining area, lounge and library are housed in the main area, which affords spectacular views from its wooden deck and the adjacent kopje.
The camp uses inverted electrical energy.
Activities
The park and the area around Kusini in particular, are noted for its lion and cheetah populations and excellent leopard sightings. Sites such as the nearby Moru Kopjes are also renowned for good resident game, particularly cats, all year round.
The woodland area fringing the short grass plains, where Kusini is located also has high sightings of resident game including rarer species such as klipspringer, in addition to some incredible bird-life.
The famous wildebeest migration is usually present in the area around Kusini Camp from around January and April.
The season between January and March greets the arrival of newborn zebra and
Wildebeest calves.
Kusini is committed to its environment and responsible travel. Therefore Kusini has been built to incorporate the natural surrounding and the entire structure can be removed without leaving a trace of inhabitation.
Swala Camp – Sanctuary Retreats
Luxury Safari Camp, 12 tents
Swala is located in Tarangire National Park which is famous for its large herds of elephant and spectacular baobab trees.
A short drive from the safari town of Arusha, Tarangire National Park makes a fabulous introduction to Tanzania's diverse peoples, landscapes and wildlife.
Swala is located in an exceptionally private section of the park offering visitors a luxurious and very exclusive safari experience.
Elephant and other animals come up to the camp to drink at the water hole and leopard is often seen among the massive baobab trees.
Swala has been renovated to the highest eco-friendly standards with an emphasis
on maintaining a low carbon footprint.
Accommodation and Facilities
Twelve guest tents are shaded by tall acacia trees and all are within sight of the well-frequented waterhole. Each tent has its own butler who will attend to guests’ every need. Furnished with campaign chairs, comfortable sofas, en-suite bathrooms and traditional materials, the tents at Swala are unashamedly luxurious but still close enough to nature to permit an exciting night under canvas.
The main dining area, deck and library are lifted on stilts around an enormous and ancient baobab tree, allowing guests a wide view of the grasslands of Tarangire. Animals come right up to the camp to drink at the water hole, which the deck overlooks, and leopard is also often spotted among the baobabs nearby.
Activities
Tarangire is one of the most thrilling and least visited national parks in Tanzania, making it the perfect place for a private safari.
Game drives are conducted in customised safari vehicles with one of their expert guides are the best way to see much of the game.
Huge herds of elephant, greater kudu, and fringe-ear Oryx are all easily spotted. In addition, leopards inhabit the trees. Due to the low volume of traffic in the park, the game is unaccustomed to vehicles and this offers a truly unique experience.
There are also many spots where guests can go for sundowners or have lunch served in the bush and it’s a rare privilege to sit quietly and watch as the animals carry on with their daily routines.

Swala works closely with the people who live nearby, offering employment and buying materials from local enterprises. They also support a primary school at Gededabo near the camp.
On a visit to the village you can meet the local people and learn about the bee-keeping project and other community projects that provide valuable income to the locals.
Ngorongoro Wilderness Camp – Wild Frontiers
Exclusive Camp, 10 Tents
This comfortable and intimate tented camp lies within the Ngorongoro Conservation Area, and in line with NCCA policy, may be moved periodically.
Ngorongoro Wilderness Camp is an exclusive, but simple tented camp for those not keen on large lodges and hotels.
The camp has its own style has been developed with the same ethos in mind… to concentrate on service and offer simple luxury to its discerning guests.
The location of Ngorongoro has been carefully selected, and has been designed to be eco-friendly; built in such a way so as to minimise the impact or “footprint” on the surrounding area.
Accommodation and Facilities
Ngorongoro is a seasonal camp, moving every 3-6 months at private sites within the Ngorongoro Conservation area.
The camp comprises of ten large, comfortable, en suite tents with proper beds & quality linen.
The camp and tents are provided with solar lighting, bush showers and eco-friendly toilets. Chilly nights are taken care of with warm duvets, hot water bottles and gas heaters in the communal areas.
Professional staff are on hand to take care of your every need, and their safari chef will prepare wholesome and varied meals during your stay at the camp. Meals are served in a large central dining and communal lounge area with great views.
The well-stocked bar area is a great place to relax in the cool evenings. Maasai warriors provide security for the camp and this in turn provides them with much needed employment.
Activities
Ngorongoro offers game drives into the famous Ngorongoro Crater. You can visit Olduvai Gorge, as well as go on guided walks around the highlands. Guided walks in the Ndutu area must be pre-booked and are arranged with local Conservation Rangers and Maasai guides.
Community tours can be arranged to visit various villages for community interaction and to find out more about the local Maasai culture. You may like to support local community projects such as the building of schools, health centres, planting trees, etc.
The camp has designed some fantastic multiple day walking safaris in the Ngorongoro Conservation area, partially supported by vehicle and/or donkeys. These safaris take you from the plains of the Ndutu region, up to the highlands of Ngorongoro and Empakaai. For the very adventurous, a hike can be organised up Ol Donyo Lengai, and enjoy nearby Lake Natron. This activity is only recommended for seasoned hikers.
Bird-watching is available, including fly-in safaris which combine with the Serengeti.
Serengeti Wilderness Camp – Wild Frontiers
Exclusive Camp, 10 Tents
Serengeti Wilderness Camp is a ‘seasonal’ camp located in the heart of the Serengeti National Park. The style of camp is simple but with every comfort being taken care of. Seasonal camps have the benefit of being able to move to some of the best game viewing areas of the park. Therefore every three to six months the camp moves to a new location. Serengeti Wilderness Camp works under the Park’s guidelines and the camp is truly eco-friendly.
The camp provides a friendly, intimate, quality tented bush camp, with good facilities in an amazing area, with much respect for its fragile ecosystem.
Accommodation and Facilities
Comprising just ten spacious tents, the camp provides comfortable beds and quality linen, with en suite eco-friendly toilets and bush-showers off an intimate dressing room area. Lighting is by12-volt (solar powered) with bedside lamps provided.
Each of the tents have a shady veranda, where guests may relax and read quietly or perhaps watch the birds and animals pass by.

A large, airy, central dining tent complements the comfortable lounge tent which has a small reference library, maps, some games for children and a recharging facility for cameras and videos.
The safari chef will prepare sumptuous meals for your enjoyment and special dietary requests are taken care of.
There is also a typical safari campfire in the evenings for guests to enjoy sundowners and snacks, and re-live the day’s experiences.
Activities
Serengeti Wilderness Park offers game drives throughout the Serengeti in its specially modified safari vehicles. The camp offers guided daily walking safaris including multi-day wilderness trails. These are conducted with a professional guide and a park’s ranger and must be pre-booked.
The multi-day walking safaris are fully backed up by the camp’s support crew and takes place in wilderness areas specifically designated by the National Parks for walking.
Birding is very rewarding, both around the camp and on game drives.
A balloon safari is a great option, but it needs to be pre-booked well in advance.
Other safari highlights in the region include Ngorongoro Crater, Olduvai Gorge, Ol Doinyo Lengai active volcano and Lake Natron.
We suggest you combine these activities with at least 3 or 4 nights in the Serengeti.
Rufiji River Camp – Foxes Safari Camps
Camp, 20 Tents
Situated in southern Tanzania, the Selous Game reserve is the largest nature reserve in Africa and is the second largest in the World. It abounds in open space and liberty with its fifty-five thousand square kilometres.
Rufiji River Camp is located on the banks of the Rufiji River which flows through the Selous Game Reserve. The camp enjoys the most fabulous views overlooking the wide, sprawling waterways.
The tented camp is situated in the heart of the reserve, is environmentally friendly and each tent is equipped with a private bathroom and a veranda facing the river.
There is a constant flow of animals coming down to drink at the river offering a permanent show to guests of the camp.
Accommodation and Facilities
Twenty tents facing the sunset, with comfortable beds, walled en-suite facilities, mosquito netting and all of the comfortable amenities expected of a lodge.
Each tent has a private veranda under a roof of local straw (makuti) that creates the perfect place for reading, writing or just resting in the shade.
The dining area, bar and lounge are all shaded by a makuti roof with views of the Rufiji River offers a well stocked bar and international cuisine.
Fourteen tents on wooden platforms with thatched roofs all have en suite bathroom facilities. All the tents can be double, twin, single or triple rooms. Extra beds can be added for children. The tents are fully furnished and are mosquito proof - spray is provided.
A structure in the central part of the camp hosts the restaurant, bar and library, all with a view of the river and the sunset.
All of the camp structures, kitchen included, are constantly being renovated, attaining the highest level of comfort.
Electricity and hot water are powered by solar panels. Electricity is provided by a generator - 24V with UK style 3 pin sockets. However it is not powered for 24 hours but is available for lighting and recharging batteries but not for hairdryers.
Activities
As a guest at Rufiji River Camp, boating safaris and walking safaris are available.
All game activities are led by the camps guides in adapted 4WD vehicles. The vehicles have tiered seating and roof shading. Game viewing is shared unless a private vehicle is reserved. Walking safaris are conducted with guides and armed rangers
The Selous Game Reserve is home to 800,000 mammals, including lions, leopards, cheetahs, elephants, buffalos, zebras, impalas, gnus, hartebeests, waterbucks, giraffes, kudus, warthogs, grysbok, hyenas, jackals, wild dogs, bush babies, baboons, Vervet monkeys and mongooses.
Boating safaris add a new point of interest to any trip, viewing birds nesting in the
banks and seeing crocodiles and hippos up close, which are the reserve’s specialty.
Bird-viewing is a delight, with at least 440 bird species documented as residents of the reserve. The
sight of the innumerable birds that enliven the park is breathtaking: yellow-billed storks, marabou storks, spoonbill stocks, Goliath herons, ibises, gray herons, egrets and pelicans as well as weaves, starlings, geese, ducks and numerous birds of prey; eagles, falcons, kites, etc.
