Olonana – Sanctuary Retreats
Luxury Safari Camp, 14 tents
Olonana is located in the Masai Mara, the heart of Kenya's big game country. It is located on a private stretch of the Mara River at the foot of the impressive Siria Escarpment.
14 spacious en-suite tents border the banks of the Mara River where the resident hippo spend their days wallowing. A wide range of game viewing and cultural activities are available and the great wildebeest migration is present in the Mara from around July to October each year. Olonana earned a silver award from Ecotourism Kenya for its innovative wetlands and tree-planting projects. The mini-spa and pool further mark Olonana apart.
Accommodation and Facilities
Olonana is a small luxury camp with 14 spacious en-suite tents.
Each tent has floor to ceiling mosquito netting, en-suite bathrooms with hot showers, flush lavatories, solar lighting and large, river view balconies. The main dining room and veranda commands a dramatic stretch of the Mara River providing the perfect setting for breakfast, afternoon tea and after dinner star gazing.
There is a swimming pool, a ‘mini spa’ and a small gift shop.
Solar power supplies 240v electricity and there is a back up generator.

Included in the rates is game viewing drives, a cultural visit and,
weather permitting - a bush meal or sun-downer.
The Mara is a fabulous place for game drives. You can see big cats and all of the Big Five, a variety of plains game and over 300 bird species. From around July to October, there's the ‘greatest show on earth’ – ‘the wildebeest migration’ – when grunting herds of wildebeest and zebra rush across the rivers between Tanzania and Kenya, attended by crocodile, lion and cheetah.
Cultural Interaction

The lodge works closely with a Maasai village which they help support by offering employment and donations to various community projects. Visit the village to learn more and for an insight into their ancient customs and traditional way of life.
Between activities relax at their mini-spa which offers a range of treatments from facials to body massages. They use worldwide recognised Africology and French marine-based Thalgo products.
Additional activities include a balloon safari ending with a champagne breakfast, or you can book a trip to Lake Victoria with the option of going fishing with a visit to the fishing village.

Governors’’ Camp is located on the banks of the Mara River in the Masai Mara Game Reserve.

Activities
The Masai Mara has an unrivalled flow of wildlife throughout the year. From July to October, the Mara sees 1.5 million wildebeest and zebra migrate from the Serengeti plains in their annual search for the seasonal grasses that sustain them. This is a site not to be missed.
Other activities include game walks, balloon flights and day excursions to Lake Victoria.

Located in a private conservancy and bordering Amboseli National Park, Tawi Lodge is ideally located, facing Mount Kilimanjaro. Environmentally friendly, this new boutique hotel is perfectly integrated with its outdoor surroundings. Small ponds with papyrus bring precious water to the bio-pool.
Accommodation and Facilities
Tawi Lodge has twelve cottages with makuti roofs, offering spacious and comfortable rooms. The decoration is simple and elegant with wooden decks and floors, large four-poster beds, fireplace, bathtub and separate toilets and showers - all facing the Kilimanjaro.

Tawi Lodge offers an extraordinary bar at the foot of a beautiful tortilis tree, a spa with massages and hot baths, a wine cellar, a library in the mezzanine with deep sofas and a living room decorated with African wooden furniture with a large fire place.
The fireplace and mini-bar is available for those very special sundowners which will make you enjoy your stay even more.
Lighting and water systems are powered 24 hours, thanks to an invertor fed by solar, generator and wind.
The cuisine is excellent and served either at the dining room or in the “boma”.
Activities
Activities on offer are balloon safaris where you can enjoy breath-taking views at the dawn of day.
The bio-pool is very refreshing and elephants, giraffes and gazelles are just a few meters away.
You can swim with the elephants only meters away.
Spa facilities are also available. You can have a relaxing massage or enjoy a hot bath.

Sabuk Lodge – Honourway

Sabuk Lodge is situated in Laikipia - central Kenya, perched on a cliff overlooking the Ewaso Nyiro River, which cascades beneath the lodge all year round. Sabuk, which remains a family home, offers the wilderness and stunning views of the Laikipia plains towards Mount Kenya, with the Karisia Hills and Mathews Mountains in the North.
Sabuk is remote and beautiful … an exclusive alluring wilderness haven on the edge of the Northern Laikipia Plateau.

Sabuk Lodge offers six cottages (2 being family cottages) that are open-fronted stone & thatched cottages, with ensuite and private verandas with stunning views. Eagle cottage comprises of two en-suite cottages - one with a king bed and the other with triple beds. It offers a family unit with its own exclusive ‘mess’ and plunge pool.
Activities
The Sabuk team have been operating walking and camel safaris for over 20 years. This age old traditional style of safari can be tailor made to suit all guests. Camel assisted walking safaris are conducted approximately 1-2 mornings of your stay.
Day & night game drives are conducted in exclusive 4 x 4 vehicles, with professional guides.
Guided bush walks, bird walks and cultural visits can be arranged. The Sabuk team works closely with the community and the Laikipia Masai share their
tribal and bush craft skills; including tracking animals, pointing out the medicinal and other uses of the local flora, and teaching you, the guest, a new way of looking at the wilderness around you.
Line fishing & river tubing are available on a seasonal basis.
A swimming pool is available for your enjoyment.

Sabuk also offers fly camping for a maximum of 4 guests. Fly camping is undertaken by the river under the stars, or on other scenic camp sites.

Responsible Tourism
The local community, Sabuk’s neighbours across the river, have set aside approximately 2,000 acres as a conservation area. This conservancy is the 'Nalare Wildlife Conservancy'. The objectives are to conserve the natural habitat and its wildlife, bearing in mind the sensitive ecosystems of this area with beneficial co-existence between wildlife and the local community; to create jobs and provide a sustainable income from the conservancy and its wildlife.

Msambweni Beach House and Private Villas- Leading Lodges of Africa

Msambweni Beach is located on the South Coast, 50 miles South of Mombasa and 20 miles from the border of Tanzania.
Msambweni Beach House & Private Villas are situated in a quiet, unique setting, on a stretch of completely unspoilt sandy beach surrounded by 28 acres of natural land. The property has 700 feet of private beach along a four mile stretch of the coastline with palm trees. The resort offers peace and tranquillity, where guests can really be at one with nature while enjoying a luxurious, yet discreet stay with attentive service in beautiful surroundings. There are no beach boys on this beach as there are no other hotels in the area.
Accommodation and Facilities
Six guests can be accommodated in the main house in three double bedrooms, all en-suite with deep sunken baths and walk-in showers and large private terraces. Master room I and II are bedrooms directly facing the sea with panoramic sea views, while Master room III has a bush/sea view from the terrace. The bedrooms are air-conditioned with mosquito nets.
The main house also features a large lounge, dining room and a 50 metre infinity swimming pool surrounded by sunbathing terraces overlooking the ocean.
The tented luxury property has a large living area with a terrace overlooking the sea with panoramic views. It also has a walk-in shower, double wash basins, overhead fans and mosquito nets.
The property’s balconies, terraces, pontoons and infinity pools overlook the Indian
Ocean and are the perfect spot to relax, watch the sunrise and enjoy a sun-downer. There are many wining and dining options extended to Msambweni Beach House.
Activities
Massages can be organized on the beach. You also have the options of pedicure and manicures in your room. These have to be pre-booked.
Village walks are conducted by respected local villagers. These walks are a lovely experience and are highly recommended. Tipping the villager is optional, but much appreciated.
Snorkelling with a private local fishing boat can be arranged at extra cost. The small trip takes about one and a half to two hours, weather permitting.
Two kayaks are at your disposal, only if accompanied by the local experienced fisherman at an extra cost. A trip normally takes about two hours in the morning.
Wearing a life jacket and head protection is a must; however kayaking is conducted at your own risk and the lodge cannot be liable for any accidents.

Fishing with the locals is an amazing experience. Trips take about 4 hours.
Picnics can be arranged in the Shimba hills at Mwaluganje and is a marvellous experience amidst the elephants. This trip costs extra but is included in a 7 night stay at Msabweni House.
Diani town tours are available. Diani is the nearest town with shops, bars and banks.
A return trip with the Msambweni House transportation can be arranged once booked in advance.
Diving, wind surfing and other water sports are also available.
