Day 1
Sussi and Chuma Lodge is situated on the northern edge of the Mosi Oa Tunya Park, where luxurious tree houses hide discreetly amongst giant ebony trees on a sweeping bend of the Zambezi River. During the next two days your activities will include; game drives with experienced guides, visits to the Falls themselves, boat cruises, fishing and an optional choice of all the ‘adrenaline’ extras for which the area is famous.
Accommodation is at Sussi Lodge for two days.
Day 2
Another day of excitement and serenity on the banks of Africa’s most spectacular river.
Day 3
Depart by private charter to the magnificent World Heritage Wetlands Site of Lochnivar National Park. Each individual tent has all the comforts and privacy you require. From here you can explore the vast wetlands noted for thousands of the endemic Kafue Lechwe, Buffalo, Zebra, Wildebeest and Oribi graze the shoreline and surrounding grassy plains.
The birdlife is a birdwatcher’s paradise with 428 recorded species ranging from the flamboyant flamingo and pelican through a boggling array of waterfowl and waders to over 50 species of raptors.
Accommodation is at Lechwe Plains Tented Camp for two days
Day 4
A day of further exploration of the floodplains and surrounds. Other activities include a cultural village trip by banana boat into Nyimba Fishing Village, walking on the open plains and fishing.
Day 5
Depart after breakfast by private charter for your flight to Mfuwe. Experts have called South Luangwa one of the greatest wildlife sanctuaries in the world, not surprisingly since the concentration of game around the Luangwa River and its ox-bow lagoons are dramatic.
In addition the topography of the area make it ideal for walking safaris allowing guests to explore the river and its tributaries in the care of an experienced guide. The Park is noted for its big game species particularly leopard, lion, elephant and a whole host of antelope species.
Overnight stay at Chichele Presidential Lodge or Puku Ridge Tented Camp.
Day 6 & 7
Two more days spent walking and driving in this special sanctuary.
Overnight stay at Chichele Presidential Lodge or Puku Ridge Tented Camp.
Day 8
Transfer back to Mfuwe for your flight to Lusaka International Airport and onward connections.
