Activities
For those seeking adventure and excitement, Zambia is simply brimming with a wide range of adrenalin-pumping and exciting opportunities.

Abseiling
Boost your adrenaline levels by abseiling down the Batoka Gorge.

High Wiring
A cable slide high above the gorge, either seated or face down like a bird, before being pulled back to the gorge.

White Water Rafting
The rapids of the Zambezi, below the Victoria Falls, offer some of the finest and most exciting rafting waters in the world.  The best months are between August and November, when the rapids are at their best. However, both high water and low water rafting are available at other times of the year. Trips start at the Boiling Pot, just below the Falls, and then wind through the spectacular gorges with as many as 21 major rapids.

bungeeBungee Jumping
This is not for the fainthearted!  The Victoria Falls offers some of the highest and most spectacular bungee jumps on the planet.

Gorge Swinging
Throw yourself off the edge of the gorge in a body harness, for a free fall for 50 metres and end with numerous pendulum swings before being lowered to the ground.

Kayaking
Tandem kayaking is an alternative to white-water rafting.

River Boarding
Slide on a boogie board down the rapids of the Zambezi River.

Jet Boating
Thrilling jet-boat rides through the rapids and gorges of the Zambezi River and the Batoka Gorge.

Quad Biking
Quad biking is the latest addition to the many adrenaline activities available in Zambia.  Hourly, half day or full day rides to the gorges can be arranged.

Micro-lighting
Enjoy the fantastic views of the Victoria Falls and the surrounding wilderness from a micro-light aircraft.

Helicopter Flights
Stunning views of the Victoria Falls, the Zambezi River, the Batoka Gorge and the Mosi-Oa-Tunya Game Park from the comfort of a modern helicopter.

Fixed Wing Flights
A window seat in a fixed wing aircraft may provide a more stable experience than the alternative helicopter or micro-light flights.

Boating and Water Sports
Enjoy boating and water sports in Zambia’s lakes, particularly Lake Tanganyika and Lake Kariba.  The lakes are a great opportunity for boating, sailing, and other water sports including water-skiing and wind-surfing.

Fishing
If your passion is fishing, Zambia will not fail to delight.  Fishing can be enjoyed throughout the year, but the best time is between April and November.

pictureCultural Safaris
With 73 languages, Zambia’s cultural make-up of tribal nations is very diverse.  Hence varying traditions provide a rich cultural tapestry to fascinate the tourist.  A number of ceremonies take part throughout the year which reflect this multi-faceted heritage.  Zambia’s people are sure to enthral you with their culture and warm friendliness.

Horseback Trails and Safaris
Horseback trails are available at some hotels, lodges and game ranches. In Livingstone one trail runs along the Zambezi. They are led by experienced rider/guides. This is a great way of offering prolific bird and game watching opportunities.

Elephant Back Safaris
One of the most enjoyable ways of going on safari. This is a wonderful way to interact with other wildlife from the backs of these gentle giants.

Walking Safaris
Zambia is the pioneer of the walking safari in the South Luangwa. This is the best way of getting really close to nature. Escorted by experienced guides walkers are able to see, feel and hear the wildlife surroundings in the bush.

Game Drives
These are operated in open vehicles, usually at dawn and dusk. They are accompanied by rangers and trackers who possess a “sixth sense” of where to seek out the most interesting wildlife.

Hunting Safaris
The hunting season is between June and December. Applications for interested parties should be made to the Zambia Wildlife Authority.

Canoe and Boat Safaris
A great alternative to land-based safaris and no real boating skills are required for canoes. Cruise along the Zambezi River and other waterways to provide excellent views of wildlife such as buffalo and elephant as they come down to drink at the water’s edge.

River Cruises
Enjoy breakfast, mid-morning, lunch, sunset and dinner cruises, with sumptuous meals and full bar.

pictureBird Watching
Zambia is a paradise for bird watching. It probably offers the finest bird watching opportunities in Africa. Lochnivar National Park shelters 428 species in its comparatively small 410sq km and its claim to hold the world record for the diversity of types has not been challenged. All the other National Parks are rich in birdlife, while Kasanka particularly attracts bird types generally not seen in Southern Africa.

Flower Lovers
Due to its fertile soil and all year temperate climate, Zambia is sure to delight flora enthusiasts.  Bougainvillaea, hibiscus, jacaranda and eucalyptus abound, attracting a host of multi-coloured butterflies.

Golf
The championship Lusaka Golf Course is on the circuit of the Annual Professional Golf Association Safari Tour.
Golf courses are also found in Livingstone, Kasaba Bay, Ndola and Chingola.

Coppermine Tours
The Copperbelt of Zambia is the world’s most concentrated copper mining industry.  Tours can be arranged on request.

As you can see, you are spoilt for choice!  Choose your options and let Africabound Adventures combine your selected activities in your itinerary and be raring to go!
