Victoria Falls - Livingstone

The lodge is stunningly perched on the very edge of the Batoka Gorge, offering superb views of the raging waters 200m below. Paths weave through native bush and gardens from the Lodge’s central living area, viewing deck and pool, to your secluded chalet. The lodge has six en-suite chalets, designed using natural materials from the surrounding area. Hidden away are the reed and stone chalets shaded by native bush and are open to the gentle winds that blow over the gorge.

This is a secluded intimate safari camp settled comfortably in the deep shade of tall riverine trees. Ana Tree Lodge offers luxurious hospitality in a desolate yet scenic environment. Ana Tree was named after the abundant Winterthorn trees that surround the camp. Elephants frequent these trees and are a welcome sight in the camp. The lodge has eight twin-bedded luxury tents each with en suite shower, hand basin and toilets.

Chongwe River Camp
This is a luxury ‘bush camp’ situated in a wilderness area, under a complete canopy of huge Winterthorn trees on the confluence of the Zambezi and Chongwe rivers. Elephants are more in number than people in this grove. Accommodation comprises of eight elegant tents positioned on the river bank, each reminiscent of vintage safaris.

Chichele Presidential Lodge – Sanctuary Lodges
This is an elegant Victorian “Gentleman’s Lodge” initially constructed as a private residential retreat for the former President of Zambia – Dr Kenneth Kaunda. Chindeni is a luxury tented camp raised on wooden decking, situated on the edge of a permanent lagoon with the Chindeni Hills as a magnificent backdrop. Chindeni’s four, en-suite luxury tents have private decks from which you can view the resident big game. Each tent has 2 queen sized beds.

Bilimungwe Bushcamp
Bilimungwe is a luxurious, Zambian trails camp. Bilimungwe is a cool and comfortable camp set beneath magnificent mahogany trees on the edge of a small plain. The camp consists of 4 reed and thatch chalets with en-suite showers.

This Bushcamp is situated in a prime location on the picturesque Kapamba River. This luxurious lodge has four chalets individually designed to offer stunning views of the river, with an open fronted style ensuring you can enjoy uninterrupted game viewing from the privacy of your own room.

Mfuwe Lodge
Each of the 18 thatched chalets overlook one of the lodge’s two lagoons, which attract abundant game activity during the day and night. All have en-suite facilities with double vanities, separate toilets and a sunken bath with integral shower. Conference facilities are available to guests wishing to combine game viewing with business.

Kafunta River Lodge
Kafunta River Lodge is set in riverine forest on the banks of the Luangwa River overlooking the South Luangwa National Park. The lodge comprises of 8 double chalets (16 beds) with en-suite bathrooms. Each thatched chalet, raised on stilts, was built using natural materials such as reed, grass and timber. It offers a pool to cool down in those hot and hazy days.

Island Bush Camp
This small, personalised camp lies under a grove of Mahogany trees on the only habitable island in the Luangwa River. The Island Bush Camp offers rustic accommodation in grass/reed huts, with the modern comforts of hot showers. Each chalet has a private balcony overlooking the River. The Island Bush Camp is 2 hours drive south of Kafunta River Lodge in a very remote game-rich area, away from other operators.

Nestled under an ancient ebony grove on the banks of the Luangwa River, overlooking the Wafwa Oxbow Lagoon, lies this intimate five star lodge, which caters for just five couples at any one time. The lodge’s exquisite décor fuses vibrant earth tones with raw materials to create a strikingly elegant and warm, tactile atmosphere making way for the natural flow of Africa’s endless wide open spaces.

In the Luangwa Valley, Robin Pope Safaris operate three camps and two houses in the South Luangwa;

Nkwali Camp
Nkwali Camp is located on Robin’s private land, overlooking the National Park. The chalet’s are cool and spacious and have en-suite bathrooms. They overlook the river and can accommodate 12 guests. Access to the park is through the main entrance over the bridge, by boat or by nearby pontoon. The area is famous for leopard and giraffe sightings.

Tena Tena Camp
This remote and small camp lies within the National Park and enjoys a stunning location on a sweeping bend of the Luangwa River. A grove of mahogany trees shade the large custom-made tents. The tents accommodate 8-10 guests and have en-suite bathrooms.

Nsefu Camp
On a sweeping bend of the river, 12km north of Tena Tena lies Nsefu. Nsefu was the first game park in Zambia and dates back to the early fifties. The Nsefu sector was recognised then as a phenomenal area and it still is. The camp was reopened in 1999, in keeping with its original style. The view of the river is superb and includes a terraced area where game grazes during the day. The camp accommodates 12 guests and has en-suite bathrooms.

This stunning private house, designed by Neil Rocher, is situated on Robin Pope’s Nkwali land, approximately 1km from camp. Each of the four bedrooms have a style of their own. The materials used in the rooms are hand painted and specifically designed. This castle-like house gives you space, luxury with nature at you doorstep.

Robin’s House lies on the edge of Nkwali Camp. Recently renovated, this private house is ideal for families, honeymooners and guests looking for a little privacy. There are two luxury en-suite bedrooms – a double and a triple – with central sitting room and dinning room. All the rooms have amazing views.

In the Luangwa Valley Norman Carr Safaris operates five properties;

Kapani Lodge
Kapani is an exclusive, private camp situated on the banks of one of the many ox-bow lagoons in the South Luangwa. This is the main lodge and accommodates just twenty guests. A thatched building in the centre of the camp houses the lounge and library. It has a secluded swimming pool at the far end of the camp.

Luwi Bushcamp
This is a seasonal camp nestled under huge mahogany trees on the banks of a permanent lagoon. Accommodation is in four huts that are made of grass and thatch with polished mud floors. Luwi is one of the camps situated deepest in the Luangwa wilderness, lending the camp a rustic appeal and providing a truly African bush experience.

Nsolo Camp
Nsolo camp is a romantic, thatched camp, situated on a waterhole in the shade of a large grove of trees, just three hours’ safari walk from Luwi Bushcamp. Accommodation consists of four open fronted rooms, built on raised wooden platforms under a thatched roof. The bathrooms, as with all the bushcamps, are open to the trees and stars above.

Kakuli Bushcamp
Kakuli is a seasonal camp on the confluence of the Luwi and Luangwa rivers. There are five spacious tents under shady thatched roofs, each with an open-air bathroom. All of the tents overlook the river with stunning views up and down this hippo-packed stretch of river. This area of the park is renowned for its great game viewing and guests will usually split their time between walking and driving.

Mchenja Bushcamp
Mchenja, meaning “the ebony tree”, is set beneath a magnificent grove of these trees on the banks of the Luangwa River. This camp takes luxury in the bush to a different level. The camp comprises five stylishly designed tents each under its own thatched roof and each with private en-suite shower and bathroom. There is a small pool alongside the bar. Mchenja is the perfect destination to complete a walking safari that has combined stays at the other camps. Guests seeking a little more luxury and pampering may choose to combine a longer stay here.

Lake Kariba and Lochnivar National Park

Chete Island Safari Lodge
When the Zambezi River filled Kariba, it became the largest man made lake in the world. Chete Island Safari Lodge is situated on the largest island on the lake. This is a wild water wilderness, where the Zambezi valley game and birds flourish and are protected by the status of Chete National Park. The charm of Chete lies in its beauty, peace and tranquillity. Eight comfortable luxury Kenyan “Meru” style safari tents nestle in a secluded bay. Each unit is built under cool thatch with en-suite bathrooms, elegant mahogany beds and furniture. A swimming pool completes the “relax and enjoy” experience. Activities on offer are game walks; canoe and boat motorised game viewing; sailing cruises; fishing by boat or canoe; bush barbeques and champagne breakfasts; bird watching in a National Bird Sanctuary.

Lechwe Plains Tented Camp – Sanctuary Lodges & Camps
This spacious, luxurious tent is near the water’s edge, enabling intimate views of some of the thousands of Lechwe and 428 bird species that inhabit the channels and islands of the Chunga Lagoon. The day’s adventures could include a cultural visit to the nearby fishing village. Later in the day a sunset trip on the lagoon or a walk on the plains to view herds of Lechwe, zebra and wildebeest.

Lusaka

Chaminuka Lodge
Chaminuka is a unique African experience. It is a village on a hill overlooking Chitoka Lake, it is pristine Miombo woodland, and Savannah, one of the rare pieces of land that survives untouched around Lusaka. This is a luxurious intimate lodge able to cater for the discerning traveller from around the world. The lodge is inspired by the design of an African village, gracefully spreading along the eastern crest of Chaminuka Hill. Each separate suite has an en-suite bathroom and all are decorated in a fusion of contemporary and traditional African themes. The 19 suites comprise of a king suite, standard twins and standard king rooms. Facilities include a pool deck overlooking the lake, antiques and original African art. At Chaminuka, safaris are tailor-made to the individual requirements of their guests.

Lilayi Lodge
Set in attractive parkland and designed in a traditional style, Lilayi Lodge is only 20 minutes drive from Lusaka. The lodge is renowned for its underground aquifers yielding crystal clear spring-like water. Accommodation comprises of six deluxe chalets each boasting a double room, en-suite bathroom and lounge. The other six standard chalets – ideal for families- contain a shared lounge, two bedroom (one twin and one double) each with ensuite toilet and shower. The lodge offers a pool, conference facilities, game viewing and conducts cultural visits.

Mulungushi Village is owned by the Government of Zambia. The walled 45 hectares provide excellent security in well established trees and gardens. Facilities comprise of 89 four bedroomed, furnished villas; 16 furnished apartments; 7 hotel rooms; a restaurant with lounge and bar, two tennis courts, two squash courts; a large swimming pool and a conference room.

The Mulungushi International Conference Centre is superbly located within easy access to Zambia’s best hotels and is a mere 3km from the city centre and only 15km from the airport. The Old Wing offers seven conference halls with the largest capacity of up to 2500 people. The new “state of the art” wing offers 13 conference halls and the largest hall of a sitting capacity of 500 people. The new convention centre is Zambia’s most preferred venue for international conferences.
